IMPORTANT UPDATE: techfest is moving to a new venue tonight from 6:00-9:00 p.m.! The event will now take place at the St. John’s Convention Centre (SJCC) at 101 New Gower Street—the same venue as Innovation Week 2024.

This year, we're celebrating the tech sector like never before with our inaugural techfest concert event. Join us at the St. John's Convention Centre with food, drink, and live music from local musicians including WITH VIOLET, Jenny Mallard, Lucas Eldem, and more, all connected to the local tech sector. Taking place from 6-9PM on October 1, at the St. John's Convention Centre (101 New Gower Street). This is a 19+ event.

With Violet

WITH VIOLET is an East Coast alt-pop band reformed in 2021. this eclectic group has captivated audiences with their unique blend of catchy hooks, cohesive musicality, and high-energy performances. The band consists of Sarah Newell (Vocals & Saxophone), Pete (Vocals & Keyboards), Matthew Cadigan (Guitar), Spencer FitzGerald (Bass), and Hunter Madden (Drums).

Over the years, WITH VIOLET has become a household name in Newfoundland’s music scene, earning multiple MusicNL nominations, including five in 2024 alone, and winning Group of the Year in 2023. Known for their dynamic live shows, WITH VIOLET has performed at major festivals like Iceberg Alley and GeorgeStreet Festival, opening for bands like The Beaches, Barenaked Ladies, Walk Off The Earth, Down With Webster, and Neon Dreams.

Jenny Mallard

Jenny Mallard is a celebrated musician and storyteller who is known for her authentic lyrics and impactful storytelling. Jenny took Newfoundland and Labrador by storm after the release of her debut album, "Into The Deep'' in November 2022.  With nominations of Pop artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Rising Star of the year at the 2023 Music NL Awards, along with a stunning performance at the Music NL Awards show, Jenny’s great successes from her album have launched her career forth into the deep music world as a recording artist. 

Lucas Eldem

Lucas Eldem is a solo musician located in St. John's, NL, known for his musical prowess across multiple instruments and genres.
